Persatuan Hoki Johor/Majlis Sukan Negeri Johor’s (PHJ/MSNJ) winning streak in the 2024 Malaysian Junior Hockey League (MJHL) continued in the quarterfinals stage, as the boys went on a demolition exercise against Majlis Sukan Negeri Sabah/Persatuan Hoki Sabah/Sekolah Sukan Malaysia Sabah (MSNS/PHS/SSMS) to secure a 11-1 victory.

The 2024 Division One champions registered the tournament’s highest winning score against the 2024 Division Two runners-up Sabah side.

PHJ/MSNJ’s triumph pits them against Bukit Jalil Sports School Thunderbolts (BJSS Thunderbolts) in the semifinals played tomorrow.

“We came prepared for a tough match against Sabah, but my players were on a roll scoring 11 goals. They gave a good performance and I hope this momentum in the team continues in the semi-final against BJSS Thunderbolts,” said PHJ/MSNJ head coach Mohd Nor Aqmal Abdul Ghafar.

“I am not putting any pressure on the players. I want them to play their best and enjoy the game. We have come this far so let’s go a little further,” he added.

Muhammad Hazrey Hafiy scored a hattrick, Abdul Hamzah Yahkip and Mohd Khairil Hakimi and Andy Walfian Jeffrynus scored two goals, while Gagandeep Singh and Ahmad Syahmi Jazlan contributed a goal each.
