
The Malaysian national junior hockey team is counting on football fans for the Malaysia Cup final on December 8th for their final Group A match against Australia on the sameday at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) President Dato’ Seri Subahan Kamal disclosed on Wednesday that MHC will write to Johor Darul Tazim (JDT) and Terengganu Football Association to inform their fans that they are welcome to watch the hockey match between the national juniors and Australia that starts at 2 pm at the National Hockey Stadium located a short distance away from National Stadium.
The Malaysia-Australia hockey match has been rescheduled from 8 pm to 2 pm at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil in light of the Malaysia Cup football final, scheduled at 9 pm at the National Stadium which is anticipated to draw a massive crowd.
“Football fans are welcome to join and support the Malaysian hockey team while waiting for the football final. Admission is free. It will be a good gesture in the spirit of sportsmanship. We are expecting an interesting match between former World champions Australia and our Young Tigers,” added Dato’ Seri Subahan.
He was speaking at the RM1 million mock cheque presentation by Tenaga Nasional Berhad and the unveiling of the newly designed national team jerseys for both men and women at the Kilat Club Foyer in Bangsar
