Malaysia Face China In Junior Asia Cup Opening Encounter

The Young Tigers will go face-to-face against China in the opening match of the Men’s Junior Asia Cup scheduled in Muscat, Oman from Nov 26 to Dec 4.

The Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) officially unveiled the much-anticipated match schedule for the men’s tournament.

Malaysia is drawn in Group B alongside Pakistan, Bangladesh, Oman and China. In Group A are India, South Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Thailand.

The match against China is on Nov 26 (8.45pm[Malaysia time]), followed by Oman (Nov 27, 11.00pm[Malaysia time]), Bangladesh (Nov 30, 6.30pm[Malaysia time]) and Pakistan (Dec 1, 8.45pm[Malaysia time]). The semifinals are on Dec 3 and final on Dec 4.

The six (6) highest-ranked teams in the final ranking of the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2024 qualify for participation in the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025.

The Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2024 will be held from Dec 7-15 in Muscat, Oman.

The Young Tigress are drawn in Pool A alongside India, China, Thailand and Bangladesh. Pool B involves South Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong China and Sri Lanka.

Malaysia goes head-to-head against Thailand in the opening match on Dec 7 (6.30pm[Malaysia time]) followed by matches against India (Dec 9, 11.00pm[Malaysia time]), Bangladesh (Dec 11, 8.45pm[Malaysia time]), and China (Dec 12, 8.45pm[Malaysia time]).
