Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) has officially secured the TNB Malaysia Hockey League (TNB MHL) 2025 Premier Division title after a commanding 4-1 victory over Territory Stingers at the National Hockey Stadium, Bukit Jalil.
Mohd Harfizi Baharom's team became champions after winning their ninth consecutive game and accumulating 27 points in the league.
However, the match started on a tense note for THT, as Territory Stingers struck early in the 5th minute, with Isaac Aaron Farmilo scoring a field goal to give his team the lead.
Unfazed by the setback THT ramped up their attacking intensity, and the pressure paid off when Faisal Saari leveled the score in the 14th minute with a well-executed penalty corner.
The THT prolific striker continued his stellar performance, completing three more goals in the 24th, 32nd and 33rd minutes, sealing a resounding victory for the East Coast powerhouse.
Speaking after the match, head coach Mohd Harfizi praised his players for their composure despite conceding an early goal.
Mohd Harfizi stated that, THT is not setting targets to win all three championships but will instead focus on each match as they prepare for the TNB cup.
“Alhamdullilah, I am proud of how the players kept their composure even after conceding an early goal. The team remained calm and responded with four well executed goals to seal the win.
“We are not aiming for three trophies outright. Instead, we will take it one match at a time and see how far we can go in the next competition
“Alhamdullilah, we have already secured Charity Shields Trophy, and the League Title is also ours. Now we will shift our full focus to the TNB Cup, which kicks off next week,” he said after the match.
In another TNB MHL 2025 Premier Division match, Tenaga Nasional Berhad secured a 3-0 victory over Maybank.
