Qnet Phoenix secured their spot in the semi-finals of the Vivian May Soars Cup with a 3-1 victory over Territory Stingers.   In the match held at Pitch 2 National Hockey Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Qnet Phoenix was initially stunned by an early goal in the third minute from Naomi Therese Evans, who capitalized on a penalty corner.   However, the lead was leveled in the 37th minute when Zati Alyani Muhammad Zubir struck with a field goal.   Six minutes later, Qnet Phoenix struck again, this time through a penalty corner conversion by Nur Syahirah Azwan. Their third goal came in the 51st minute, courtesy of a field goal by Nazatul Umairah Hasaan, sealing their spot in the semi-finals of the Vivian May Soars Cup.   Qnet Phoenix head coach, Lailin Abu Hassan, expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, particularly in the second half, and praised the fighting spirit of his young squad, comprised of players under the age of 21.   “Overall, the players delivered an outstanding performance, especially in the second half, displaying remarkable determination to secure today's victory.   “In the first and second quarters, the team appeared nervous and made some easy mistakes, thus allowing Territory Stingers to score. However, a tactical adjustment later shifted the momentum in our favor.”   “I am pleased with the performance of all our players. Despite fielding an under-21 squad, we achieved our goal of reaching the semi-finals of the Vivian May Soars Cup.   “The players have proven that, despite their young age, they can compete against more experienced opponents,” he said after the match.   Meanwhile, in the Premier category, Maybank secured a 2-0 victory over Territory Stingers, while Liaoning Men's Hockey Team suffered a 1-2 defeat to Armed Forces HT.
