SSBJ Thunderbolts Keep Up The Pressure In Boys’ Division One TNB MJHL

SSBJ Thunderbolts kept up the pressure at the top of the Boys’ Division One of the TNB Malaysian Junior Hockey League 2022 as they maintained a perfect record to keep pace with leaders SSTMI Thunderbolts.

Second-placed SSBJ Thunderbolts edged MBPJ Black Widow 3-1 at the National Hockey Stadium.

With SSBJ Thunderbolts frustrated at the end of an intense first period, they finally opened account with two quick Field Goals in a two-minute spell.

Muhammad Amirul Haniff Mamat was on target in the 21st minute as Mohamad Zulhanif Sahran then added the second in the 23rd minute.

And while MBPJ Black Widow gave themselves a lifeline through Muhammad Adam Haiqal  Abdul Razak's Field Goal in the 28th minute, it could not spark a revival as SSBJ Thunderbolts then added the finishing through Mohamad Zulhanif Sahran's Penalty Stroke at the half hour.

With the win, SSBJ Thunderbolts have picked up the full 12 points from four matches played – three points behind SSTMI Thunderbolts, but who have played a match more.

And this week, SSTMI Thunderbolts beat AHP-SS-SMP 2-0 at the Wisma Belia to maintain their position at the top of the standings.

Akmal Azaman smashed in a Penalty Corner in the 31st minute for the lead before Muhammad Hanzalah Abdul Hadi then added a Field Goal in the 48th minute for SSTMI Thunderbolts to pick up their fifth full points of the competition.
