Hugo Labouchere and Louis de Backer lifted Belgium to a 2-1 victory over South Africa in the classification match at the 13th Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil this evening.
The Belgians who finished second at the 2016 JWC event in Lucknow, India, completed their journey here in ninth position, while the South Africans are in 10th spot out of 16 teams in the championship.
\Labouchere, who has scored nine goals in the tournament, opened account in the 26th minute via a penalty corner conversion to push Belgium 1-0 ahead and de Backer extended the lead to 2-0 from a field goal two minutes later.
The South Africans replied through Jaydon Brooker off a penalty corner in the 36th minute
