SSTMI-PKS Uniten have set up a date against MBPJ Black Widow for the title of this year’s best in the Girls’ Final of the TNB Malaysian Junior Hockey League 2022 this Sunday at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
SSTMI-PKS Uniten crushed Wipers-KLSS 4-1 as MBPJ Black Widow edged SSNP-MSP-PKS Uniten 1-0 in the two semifinal matches that were played earlier this afternoon.
Khairunnisa Ayuni Mohd Sharuddin converted a ninth minute Penalty Corner to put SSTMI-PKS Uniten in confident mode as Dian Nursyakira Najwa Al- Waqda Nazeri’s Field Goal in the 21st minute boosted their conviction further.
And even though Wipers managed to sneak in a Penalty Corner goal in the 30th minute through Halimatul Halijah Zulkifli, they just could not sustain the momentum as SSTMI-PKS Uniten then turned on the power in the last period.
Two Penalty Corner goals from Khairunnisa Ayuni Mohd Sharuddin (52nd minute) and Nur Shafika Ahmad Kamil (60th) gave SSTMI-PKS Uniten the comprehensive win and their place in the final.
In the meantime, MBPJ BlacK Widow were made to work hard for their close 1-0 win over SSNP-MSP-PKS Uniten.
In a keenly contested affair, both teams played a tight game in the first two periods before MBPJ Black Widow started to make inroads in the third.
And in the 35th minute, Nur Idrina Asnida Mohd Yusmi found the space and time to slot the only goal of the game to give MBPJ Black Widow their place in the final.
