
ALL you have to do is show up for the FIH Junior World Cup (JWC) 2023 at the National Hockey Stadium from Dec 5-16 and admission if free.
Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) Vice-President Dato’ Seri Dr Anil Jeet Singh in disclosing this in a press conference today, was counting on fans to come in droves.
“We would like to encourage and welcome all hockey fans and their families to come and watch the Junior World Cup and also support our national team. The top 16 teams in the world are competing,and it is going to be an exciting tournament,” he said.

He added that preparations at the National Hockey Stadium is in the final phase of completion.
“Ninety percent of the job is done, and we are almost ready to see the tournament start. Only the LED lights need to be fixed, and the contractors are in the process of completing it. In another two to three days, everything will be ready,” he added.
Chile, who finished third in the American Junior Championships in April this year, were the first team to arrive in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

Defending champions and World No 1 Argentina, Australia, the Netherlands, and Belgium are scheduled to arrive on Wednesday.
Four other teams will arrive on Nov 30 – Canada, France, Germany and New Zealand. The Malaysian team will also check in at the designated hotel on the same day.

The other teams competing are India, South Korea, Spain, Egypt, Pakistan, and South Africa. They are scheduled to arrive in the next few days.
