1MAS and MILO’s involvement in the 1MAS MILO National U14 Tournament, is due to take place in Melaka from the 31st of October 2015 till the 8th of November 2015.

The 1MAS MILO National Under 14 Tournament is an essential part of Malaysian hockey development. Having adopted this tournament last year, 1MAS is extending its role from merely grassroots and junior development to introducing high-performance culture within specified age groups. Typically, from ages 13 and above, athletes go through specialization programmes. They veer towards a sport of choice, in this case hockey, and MHC provides a multitude of avenues for them to develop. In line with our blue print, these tournaments are imperative towards growth and progress. Players familiarize themselves with various high performance-related activities from a very young age.

Melaka Hockey Association, the host for this edition of the tournament, is led by a vibrant President – Tuan Habibul Ajmi Datuk Hj Manggar – and a very capable board. The enthusiasm displayed by MHA brings much needed zest and zeal towards MHC’s pursuit for progress.

Coupled with the unending support from important stakeholders like MILO, a name synonymous to hockey development and sport development in its entirety, the growth for hockey appears inevitable and positive.

MILO has partnered MHC for numerous years in grassroots hockey, providing the opportunity and platform for young players to develop as hockey players, subsequently gauge their skills against each other. The recent success of the Malaysian Team at the 2013 Junior World Cup and the recently concluded Sultan of Johor Cup is one of the many visible results from events similar to this, which are advocated and supported by MILO.

The MHC thanks Melaka Hockey, MILO and all other stakeholders who have made the organization of this tournament possible.
