INDIA were given the jitters before clawing back from a goal down to edge Japan 2-1 in Group B match of the 8th Men’s Junior Asia Cup at the Wisma Belia Stadium.

The host to the 2016 Junior World Cup in New Delhi fell behind to a 26th Hiromasa Ochiai field goal but Harmanpreet Singh saved the India the blushes with two penalty corners goals (28th and 40th) for this victory.

“Generally we played far better here and I am happy with this win. It was a good game between two good teams and we look forward to our next match against Malaysia,” said Indian head coach, Harendra Singh.
